OutbreakAR privacy policy

Last updated: 8 September 2026. This policy covers the private and closed Android beta operated by DeltaT AI Ltd.

OutbreakAR uses your camera, device movement and foreground location to make an AR survival game respond to your surroundings. This beta has no player account, multiplayer service, advertising system or real-money purchase system. Game progress is saved on your device. Map services and optional Google hand-tracking diagnostics also involve network communication, as explained below.

Location and game progress

With location permission, the game reads your current position, accuracy, speed and sample time while you play. It uses these to select a nearby map region, apply area-specific resource chances, check that you are near your chosen base or camp, and support physical travel between regions. The game does not request background-location permission or save a continuous GPS movement trail.

The device-local save includes inventory and survival progress; the coordinates of bases, camps and workbenches you deliberately establish; your active and pending travel regions and travel choices; and limited operational timestamps. It also saves pseudonymous identifiers and outcomes for approximately 100 m search areas so returning or restarting does not provide fresh loot immediately. These identifiers are derived with a random per-save salt and are not a promise of anonymity. Expired search records are removed during normal game maintenance, with the current active search retained while needed to finish it safely.

Downloaded area packs contain public map features and their region bounds. The app retains the current and, when needed, pending pack. Raster map images are cached in memory during the session. Map requests expose the requested area and ordinary connection information, including your IP address, to the provider.

Camera, motion and optional hand tracking

Camera frames and motion data support the live view, aiming, local AR tracking and environmental effects. OutbreakAR does not record or upload camera images, video or microphone audio. The Android app does not request microphone access.

AR features use Google Play Services for AR (ARCore), provided by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. Google describes its processing in How Google Play Services for AR handles your data. This beta does not use ARCore Cloud Anchors or the ARCore Geospatial API.

Camera hand tracking is optional and disabled until you enable it after its notice. It uses Google MediaPipe Tasks to process input images on your device. Google states that MediaPipe does not send those input images to its servers, but sends API usage and performance metrics to Google for service measurement, debugging, maintenance and improvement. See the MediaPipe privacy notice and Google Privacy Policy.

You can disable hand tracking in Help / Setup or Controls. This stops the hand session and further frame submissions; an in-flight frame may finish while its resources close. Diagnostics already queued by the SDK may still be sent. Disabling does not retract information already sent to Google. Touch controls and phone-based aiming remain available without camera hand tracking.

Network services

The beta requests public area data from the Overpass service at overpass-api.de and visible map tiles from tile.openstreetmap.org. These providers receive the area or tile requested and network request metadata. Their handling is described by the Overpass service information and OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy. Provider policies and availability are outside the game's local save system.

The game's privacy, support and download pages use web hosting. Visiting them creates normal web requests to the hosting provider, Cloudflare. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. Opening a link does not automatically send your game save or camera frames.

Unity's optional analytics, advertisements and performance reporting are disabled in this beta. This does not disable the separate Google SDK processing described above. We do not sell game information or use it to target advertisements.

Your controls, storage and deletion

Game progress and chosen place coordinates remain until changed in play or erased. The beta requests that Android exclude app-owned data from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. There is no game cloud-save or cross-device recovery service. Keep this in mind before erasing data, uninstalling or changing devices.

We do not automatically receive your save or a player location history. If you choose to contact support or share a screenshot/report, share only information needed to explain the issue and avoid private location or camera details. Your chosen support channel will process the information you send.
